Centerville Dragway

Wayne Trammel took the win at Centerville Dragway in the $2010 New Years Bracket Bash!!! Ken Anderson of Tulsa, OK came in as runner-up in what was a cold day of drag racing. Gates opened at 9 AM with a poor weather forecast for racing.  Despite the 28 degree temperatures, the racers were there.  This was going to be a difficult day for the track owner, Wayne Styles, to provide traction for the drivers, but the cars started pulling the front wheels off the ground right away. During time trials Wayne Trammel pulled his dragster into the lanes and laid down a 4.75 E.T. at a little over 145 mph.  Yes, that right! 4.75 and 145 mph in 29 degree weather and track temps at 30 degrees.  Trammel continued to put the goods on the track and won the event. This was clearly his day to shine.  In the Quarter-Finals he ran a 4.81 E.T on a 4.817 Dial-in with a PERFECT LIGHT; Semi- Finals a 4.8119 E.T.  .0035 RT. on a 4.81 Dial-in and the finals with 4.8174 E.T. 142.77 MPH on a 4.80 Dial-in, dropping his dial-in just in case the car ran a little "faster".

This was great bracket racing and 2010 has just begun... Credit needs to be giving to Wayne and Patty Styles for pulling the 2010 New Years Bracket Bash off under such difficult conditions. Mid-American Drag News is look forward to providing additional coverage throughout the year.
